Close of Service (COS) Conference

I just got back from my close of service (COS) conference. Every Peace Corps volunteer that finishes their service has a COS conference. Here in the Dominican Republic we are lucky enough to go to a hotel where we get a whole queen-sized bed to ourselves and TV and electricity all of the time and internet and air conditions and hot showers! I even took a bath! Also the food was amaaaaazing and in buffet form so needless to say each time there was a meal I ate so much it hurt. I kept saying the next time I’d not eat as much and pace myself, but of course inevitably I would eat just as much! I mostly ate my weight in vegetables and minideserts!

But the conference was not just about stuffing ourselves with delicious food and using ridiculous amount of hot water, it was a 3 day long process to prepare ourselves for our transition back to the US of A. I will get back to the US in November and they want to prepare us emotionally and professionally for this transition.
